Here you can read about the latest news and events from the orchard railway.

October has been busy as usual. There was the annual Brogdale Apple Festival with the Railway turning itself into a mass transit system for families taking a break from seeing the sights. Naturally being a weekend it rained but everyone seems to have enjoyed themselves

By way of advance notice our Santa Specials will be running on Sundays December 1st, 8th, and 15th. These Specials involve a winter ride around the circuit before a visit to Santa Prices are £1.50 for adults and £3.50 for kids and are on a first come first served basis. Unfortunately we can't guarantee the weather so come dressed for Arctic conditions

We are now utilising Facebook. Thanks to our new IT team (yes we have an I.T. Team) there are current railway based videos and various stills to have a look at.

Mogul the expensive- to- run Railway Cat is now on Facebook and has had a reach of over 500,- the highest for our facebook page to date.

As ever, new volunteer staff are always welcome to join our society. We are particularly interested in trainee drivers, guards, signalmen, engineers and platform staff. DIY skills are also useful. If you visit us at Brogdale on most Tuesdays or Wednesdays or Sundays (11am-4pm) we'll show you round and hopefully talk you into joining us!

Trains run every Sunday, the first at 11.00 am and the last around 4.00 pm and also during Brogdale festivals and Bank holidays. Please note however that during December we will only be running our Santa Specials

and finally, a reminder that we can also be booked for parties, weddings and the like at very reasonable rates. Contact Mick 01795 474211 for details or try our other contact details on this website.

What with school holidays, weddings and birthday trips, bank holidays and Brogdale festivals, August was a busy month for the railway. The wedding party at the end of July was particularly memorable if only for the sheet and bolt lightening and the heavy rain.
