Yet another well attended May Bank holiday at the end of the month. That makes 2 Bank holiday running in the one month!
Between times we’ve been putting our efforts into track and track side maintenance and fighting back the weeds, grass and hedgerows which have really taken off in the last couple of weeks.
We have also been re-ballasting and tidying up parts of the Loop and have now exhausted our ballast pile.
Class 20 (Lady Fiona) has been up on blocks, serviced and given a polish.
The garden at Barry’s Box has been re-dug and potatoes planted.
Mogul the Railway cat- a great favourite with families- has now taken up summer residence in the Ticket Office where he can usually be found stretched out on the counter. Or sitting in the path of an on-coming train.
Trains run every Sunday, the first at 11.00 am and the last around 4.00 pm and also during Brogdale festivals and Bank holidays. See our web site for further details.
As ever new volunteer staff are always welcome. We are particularly interested in trainee drivers, guards, engineers and platform staff. Come down to Brogdale on most Tuesdays or Wednesdays or Sundays (11-4) and make yourself known to staff. We can show you round and then hopefully talk you into joining us!
And finally, a reminder that we can be booked for parties, weddings and the like at very reasonable rates. Contact Mick on 01795 474211 for details or try the other contact details on this site.
